The Newberry High School Band of Pride Marching Band

Membership in the NHS Band of Pride is mandatory for all students who participate in the band program the Newberry High School. Some exceptions are made to this policy for students who are participating in a fall sport whose schedule conflicts with band rehearsals. The NHSBOP performs at FMBC and FBA contests, the University of Florida Homecoming Parade, as well as performing at home and away football games during the fall.

The Newberry High School Symphonic Winds

The Newberry High School Symphonic Winds are the concert ensemble of the NHS band program. Throughout the year the Symphonic Winds perform concerts for the community, FBA music performance assessments, and other music festivals throughout the southeast. Just recently the Symphonic Winds recieved straight superior ratings from a panel of distinguihsed music educators at the Busch Gardens Classic held in Tampa, FL. All members of the NHS Band perform with this ensemble.

The Newberry High School Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble is an after school ensemble for band students interested in learning and performing the American classical music form of jazz. Rehearsals begin at the end of marching season and extend until the end of Solo and Ensemble in February. Students interested in participating in this ensemble should contact Mr. Cobb.
